The Montessori Middle School of Cape Cod provides a program of rigorous academics and experiential learning. The combination of Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy and the unique collaborations of the school foster personal growth, responsibility, and self-confidence.
All the components of the curriculum meet the Massachusetts Framewords and work together to strengthen the abilities of adolescents to act responsibly, communicate effectively, and become trustworthy. Authority is shared with students through class meetings where decisions are made democratically. The farm setting and its surrounding environment allows students to study topics beyond the classroom and learn through experience.
Students gain a respect for the environment and a true sense of their place in the world with this opportunity to directly apply their academic studies in land-based projects including agriculture and animal husbandry. Students gain the skills, education, the unique experience, and the confidence they need to become successful in high school and beyond.
