Coonamessett Farm, the
Montessori Middle School of Cape Cod (a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization under Third Plane Montessori, Inc.) provides a program of rigorous academics and
experiential learning. The combination of Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy and the unique location of the school foster personal growth, responsibility, and self-confidence.
The farm setting and it surrounding environment allows students to go beyond the classroom and learn through experience.
They gain a respect for the environment and a true sense of their place in the world. Students have the opportunity to directly apply their academic studies in land-based projects including agriculture, animal husbandry, and boat building.
Whether writing a research paper, completing a hydroponic science project, caring for an alpaca, or learning to build a
skiff, students at the Montessori Middle School of Cape Cod gain the skills, the education, the unique experience, and the confidence they need to become successful in high school and beyond. |
