Montessori Middle School Opens in East Sandwich

(East Sandwich, Cape Cod, MA)----After four years at Alchemy and Coonamessett Farms in East Falmouth, the Montessori Middle School of Cape Cod (formerly Cape Cod Montessori School) is opening this September in East Sandwich at the historic Quaker Meetinghouse off of Spring Hill Road, site of the oldest Quaker meeting in America.  

The Montessori Middle School of Cape Cod provides middle school students (grades 7-9) a cooperative, hands-on and academically rigorous program based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s vision of middle school education.  The school’s curriculum follows the standards of the Massachusetts Frameworks while providing and encouraging students to explore subjects through their own inquiry. Abigail Rhoads, Lead Teacher, remarks “We will still maintain a close collaboration with our friends at Coonamessett Farm, where classes will be held one day a week, taking full advantage of the educational foundation we have built there over the last four years.”
