In addition to these projects, students also receive direct instruction in
Math and Spanish. Although many practical math skills are learned through doing the Occupations, the extra math class insures that students are learning the specific algebra and geometry skills they will need as a basis for high school coursework.

Workshops are also offered as needed for specific topics. Grammar, debate, health, computer skills and research skills are typical offerings.

Opportunities for Creative and Physical Expression occur every week when students can choose from subjects such as art, desktop publishing, crafts, and wood working for Creative Expression and hiking, canoeing, and basketball for Physical Expression.

Other key components of the program are Community Meetings and Seminars. These provide a chance for students to directly participate in the functioning of their surroundings while learning the importance of active engagement in a community.

Students will learn the importance of self-sufficiency through the creation and administration of a Micro-Economy on the farm. Each year students will research and develop a real business enterprise. The students will be completely responsible for the success of this venture. They will learn the importance of working together to complete tasks and they will gain first-hand knowledge of the process of production and exchange, which helps form the basis of our society.

In the soul of the adolescent, great values are hidden,
and in the minds of these boys and girls there lies all our hope of future progress.
